When troubleshooting website or email issues, DNS information is often the missing piece. At the moment, checking a customer’s DNS settings requires visiting external tools such as WHOIS services or platforms like MXToolbox.
It would be extremely valuable to have core domain and DNS diagnostics available directly inside the WP Umbrella client dashboard.
Suggested information to display
• Nameservers
• MX records (mail routing)
• SPF, DKIM and DMARC status
• Basic WHOIS data (registrar, expiry date)
• DNS propagation or validation status (basic check)
Why this matters
• Many agencies do not manage the customer’s domain or DNS
• DNS issues are a common cause of email delivery problems and website errors
• Having this data in one place speeds up troubleshooting significantly
• Fewer context switches between tools means faster support and fewer mistakes
Use case
When email is not working or a domain related issue occurs, support teams can immediately verify DNS and mail configuration without leaving the WP Umbrella dashboard or asking the client for access.
In short: bringing basic DNS and domain insights into WP Umbrella would turn it into a more complete diagnostic and support platform for agencies.
