I cannot really imagine that this feature that would used very often. What would this be for? A network of identical looking sites? Personally, I would never use this and I would vote this feature request down if I could ;-)

Jan-Hinrich Fehlis if you have a theme that is used across multiple sites but is not supported by the WordPress updater. Often times a themeforest theme, or even a home grown one id imagine.
